Ground Breaking held for the Westside Fire Station, Station 11

The Tifton- Tift County Fire Department announced the official groundbreaking of the new Westside Fire Station, Station 11, 60 Carpenter Rd., Tifton, Georgia. Station 11 is funded through SPLOST III, and is part of an overall plan to reduce fire insurance rates for property owners in Tift County, and to enhance fire protection and other emergency services provided by TTCFD.

The facility will be approximately 5,000 square feet with two bays for housing firefighting apparatus. The TTCFD city volunteers will operate from the new station utilizing reserve units and other apparatus as needed until full time staffing becomes feasible.The addition of the new station will bring the total fire station count to eleven, with seven volunteer stations located throughout the county and three career stations located within or in close proximity to the city limits of Tifton.
