The Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday July 14 for Operation BICOH. Operation BICOH is a non-profit organization promoting youth education programs, economic development, & community building initiatives. Operation BICOH has been serving the Southwest Georgia community since 2007 and has opened its new office located at 2735 Hwy 41 South in Tifton Georgia. The office was donated by Charlie Darrington owner of the Darrington Wash & Fold located in the same building. Dr. Alicia Gwynn, wife of Tony Gwynn, Major League Baseball 2007 Hall of Famer, is the Founder of Tony & Alicia Gwynn Foundation, a major supporter of Operation BICOH. Vice Mayor Johnny Terrell presented a proclamation from the Office of the Tifton City Mayor for her support of Operation BICOH’s efforts to improve Tifton’s Southside.

After the ribbon cutting everyone settled in for some hamburgers, hotdogs, music, and even a little dancing. A great start to making a positive difference in our community and with our youth!
