Richardson named to Chamber Wall of Fame

Bill Richardson, who recently retired as President and CEO of Tift Regional Health System, was named to the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce Wall of Fame during the Chamber’s Annual Meeting & Banquet Thursday night at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center.

TIFTON – Bill Richardson, who recently retired as President and CEO of Tift Regional Health System, was named to the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce Wall of Fame during the Chamber’s Annual Meeting & Banquet Thursday night at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center.

Other honorees Thursday night included former State Court Judge and State Senator John Crosby who received the Stafford Award; Melinda Moore, who was named the Prince Business Woman of the Year; Danny Griffin, who received the John Hunt Entrepreneur of the Year; Jody Benson, the winner of the J. Lamar Branch Award; Austin McAlpin, who received the Rotary Club of Tifton Ethics in Business Award; and Allison Powell, who was named the Ambassador of the Year.

Also, Chamber Chairman Tyron Spearman officially welcomed Bill Marsh, who will serve as Chairman for 2018. Marsh, the Tifton City President of Colony Bank, thanked all Chamber members for their hard work in the past and urged them to continue their hard work in the coming year.

Brian Marlowe, the President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, also addressed the crowd and discussed the accomplishments in economic development during the past year, including the construction of American Textile Company’s new facility and several other industries that relocated or expanded in the area in 2017.
