Rhythm & Ribs set for March 7

Over 50 barbecue teams are expected to compete in the annual Rhythm & Ribs competition, set to take place at Fulwood Park on Saturday, March 7.

The event is sanctioned by the Georgia Barbecue Association and will bring cooking teams to Tifton from all over Georgia in the professional division. Also, local teams will participate in the Backyard division, which has grown each year. The professional teams will compete for $11,700 in cash prizes, including $3,000 to the Grand Champion, while backyard teams will compete for $5,500 in cash prizes, including $1,000 to the Grand Champion.

Award-winning artist Molly Tuttle will headline a day of music Saturday night. Tuttle was named the “Instrumentalist of the Year” at the 2018 Americana Music Awards and specializes in folk, bluegrass, Americana and traditional country music. Music will begin on the Syd Blackmarr Stage at 10 a.m. Saturday morning and continue throughout the day.
