Superior Sauce Company opening 100,000 sq. ft facility in Tifton

Superior Sauce Company, which makes Terry Ho’s Yum Yum Sauce, is relocating to Tifton.

Owner Terry Ho said he is relocating from Leesburg, Ga to a 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility with 5,000 sq. ft. of additional office space. His company is investing approximately $12 million in the facility and expects to employ at least 60 employees when it is running at 100 percent capacity. Ho also said that he has room behind the new facility to expand his operation in the future.

“We are pleased to welcome Superior Sauce to Tifton as our newest manufacturing partner,” said Brian Marlowe, President & CEO of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce and the Tift County Development Authority. “Our community continues to more forward, even in these challenging times. Superior Sauce is a quality company and we are fortunate to have them choose Tifton for the food processing operation.”

Ho started the company in 2018 to manufacture his line of sauces, which includes the original Yum Yum Sauce as well as Spicy Yum Yum Sauce, Lite Yum Yum Sauce, Ginger Dressing, Zum Zum Sauce and Yum Yum Ranch.

“I have the Yum Yum Sauce and I used another packer before,” he said. “To control my own destiny, I need to make my own product, so keep the quality to my liking.”

Ho said the new facility will not only be manufacturing his sauces, including new products, but will be able to formulate and manufacture other products, as well as a business development center and brokerage center to represent and promote other products.

“I see the need,” he said. “When I started I literally had to go around looking for a company to do it for me. With this, if someone has a sauce they think is great and they want to get it into the stores, Superior Sauce will be where he comes. Not only can we make his product, we can also help him get it into the stores because we have relationships with the grocery stores.”

Superior Sauce has begun representing regional concoctions such as Captain Anderson’s seasoning and Cat 5 Salsa, both out of Panama City, Fla., and Ho said he hopes to include other products and help them get into regional stores.

“The atmosphere is there,” he said. “Millennials like to experience different things. Ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise just aren’t enough.”

Ho said that the new facility, which has been under construction for several months, is slated to be up and running around by February 1, 2021.

“We’re hoping to grow with Tifton,” he said.
